Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) in Northern Ireland

The Bryden Centre is undertaking a study for the Department for the Economy in NI to determine business and public sector views on the need and practical approaches for Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) in Northern Ireland. This aims to find out if CCUS could be widely used in Northern Ireland and if it could be adopted by moderate emitters of CO2 such as organisations with large gas/biomass/oil boilers or CHP plant. We would like to understand what will drive CCUS adoption and which technologies may be used.
